What if you knew you were going to die?

I was just sent this email from a friend of mine and it really blew me away. I am posting the link to it below, its a very short video from one of Oprah Winfreys shows. No one likes to talk about death and dying but if you were faced with the grim reality that your life would be over in a few months, what would you be doing right now?

Most of us take our lives for granted. We always say, “ok I can do that tomorrow”, or “when I have more money I will ….”  The reality is that no one knows when their time is up. I have always been a firm believer in live every day like it is your last one because no one wants to live with regrets. Live your life wisely, do not take relationships you have for granted and value them with your whole heart.  Personally, I always tell my three children and husband every single day at least once that I love them.  I always try to put my children to bed at night and make sure I kiss them goodnight and tuck them in.  I always try to compliment at least one stranger per day, it cheers them up especially if they are having a bad day.

Some of the main points that the video talks about are living your life with integrity. By living with integrity you live with a fuller, happier life.  Another point that was made was there is good inside most people, it just may take time to uncover it.  One final point, that no matter what or whose fault an argument may be,  always apologize and ask the person what you can do for them to make it up to them if you are the one who messed up. It’s totally worth the click and the 3 minutes to watch.

After you watch it, I am so eager to read what you guys have to say about it. I am putting this one under “Making an Impact”, because in fact if people listened to what this guy is saying, he would certainly have done just that…made an impact.  What do you do each day to make the world a better, happier place to be?  What mark will you leave?
