Veins, Veins, Veins, in all the wrong places

At the age of 31 when I first had my first child, I noticed that I had the start of a hereditary problem that has plagued my family for generations…varicose veins. Varicose veins, also known as spider veins, are swollen and twisted veins that are visible just under the surface of the skin. These unsightly roadmaps began worsening after I had my second child 2 years later. Trying to avoid saline therapy, where they inject the veins with saline to collapse the vein, I investigated using an alternative treatment, an herbal treatment.

Triggers of Varicose Veins:

Pregnancy is a common trigger of varicose veins, which result when valves weaken in the legs. This can be caused by the weight gain of being pregnant. They can become painful if they are left untreated and can lead to circulatory issues down the road. Looking into some herbs I came across the following ones that are useful in remedying varicose veins. Although I was a bit skeptical about it working mainly because I am predisposed to it having varicose veins.

Genetics, as I mentioned before my great grandmother had them, my grandmother had them, my mother has them and now I am blessed with this condition, although mine are not as bad as my moms. Nothing we can do about the hereditary factor.

Prolonged standing or sitting cause a great amount of pressure on the legs and the veins. Because calve muscles are inactive and cannot help push the blood the veins. The pressure on the veins is released when you start walking. So if your job requiressitting for long periods of time, make sure you get up and take a short walk every now and then for a couple of minutes every hour.

Injury or trauma to the vein, like if you break an ankle, have a car accident, obtain a sports related injury, or had surgery. bruising will occur, that is the pooling of blood resulting from broken veins under the skin.

Varicose veins are not just a womens issue, in men they are usually a result of a vein blow out in a nearby vein which causes pressure on the other veins in the area. This pressure from those veins cause veins to enlarge, stretch and change in color.

Spider veins are not only a leg issue. There are many instances that they will occur on the face, mostly on the nose and cheek area. This type of spider vein is typically caused by a common skin condition called rosacea and is sometimes accompanied by acne breakouts. Another cause of facial spider veins can be over exposure to the sun.

If you do suffer from varicose veins, just know there is help. Herbs such as Horse Chestnut, Bilberry, Gotu Kola and Butchers Broom help eliminate the condition. I have only found one product that contains all of these ingredients together so I do not have to worry about taking 4 pills in a day. That product is called Leg Vein Formula and it is made by a company called Arbonne. I swear by this product, from my experience I now that it works.

Do you know of any other treatment for this skin condition?
