With today’s gas prices fueling everything else to cost more. Everyone is thinking of ways to save money and cut costs. When it’s costing $100 or more to fill up your tank every week, other things have no choice but to suffer. We all could use some tips on saving money any way we can.
Everyone should know the importance of keeping your car in its best shape to save gas. But in case you don’t you need to keep your car running it’s best and tuned up to ensure proper fuel usage. Another thing to remember is to keep your tires properly aired. Anyway to conserve even a small amount of fuel is helpful.
You should now, if you haven’t already, set a monthly budget. Keep a record of how much you spend and what you spend it on. This way you can tell just how much of your money is going on frivolous activities. Every month you should figure up how much money you have coming in and then deduct your bills for that month. This will give you the money you have that you need to budget for things like gas, food, and incidentals.
Why ride when you can walk? It’s a great time to get back your youth and invest in a bicycle, good walking shoes, and/or a scooter. When not going to far, why not leave the car at home and take alternate transportation. It’s a great way to get healthy and get some fresh air. Also, check with carpooling or public transportation in your area for longer trips.
Start saving money. Even if you can only spare $5 or $10 at a time, put it in a savings. Make a special location in the house for spare change or dollars and whenever you come in with it in your pocket, stick it all in one place. At the end of the month or on your payday, drop it by the bank. A great trick we do at my home. You really will be surprised how much you have in that jar, or whatever you choose.
Now, is the time to start thinking “save”. Cut out things you don’t need and only buy what you actually need. I will continue to post more Save Money Tips in future postings.
